Roger Bason, Founder of three colleges, an American businessman and entrepreneur wrote;

“Let him who would enjoy a good future, waste none of his present.”

He spoke in the masculine but of course this applies to women of business as well. Situations change. I have worked in four special hotels. Where everything was in place and everyone got along and that comes from the top. You hire the right people, support them, train them, celebrate them. I have tried to create that in my own departments and hotels but to have staying power, it has to come from the top and everyone must buy into it.

But each of those special situations changed as GMs or VPs changed. Those special moments don’t go on forever. When you have one, you have to work at it, everyday, in order for it to thrive. Once it’s gone you can’t get it back without painful separations and rebuilding. When this happens to you, seek out new opportunities. You can hold your own team but you can’t change the course of the ship on your own.

Don’t waste your future by staying in the present, if it’s sick. You and your time and your attitude are too precious. If the top doesn’t have your vision, then let that vision chart your future. Do not waste the present. Seize the future by controlling your present. Go out and Make Today, a GREAT DAY!!! Start your future, TODAY!
