There are many people and seers over the course of history that speak of the concept of positive self-talk, think and grow rich and the like. The person is almost not as important as the concept in this case. “Your words create what you speak about. Learn to speak positively.”
However, consider this, your words not only have to be positive, they must be honest. This is an ongoing theme at 240withbill. They must reflect your thoughts and your thoughts have to be honest and forthright. Forthright means true. We’ll get back to this over and over. But don’t fall for just the new age mantra of think positive and be positive, yadda yadda yadda. That is fine as far as it goes, but are you going to think positive about hurting a co-worker or their efforts or a competitor? Of course not, but taken to an extreme, there you are.
So honesty is even more important than all the positive thoughts you got. Your honest thoughts become honest actions. Your selfish thoughts become selfish actions. Sounds like the Lincoln quote we published earlier. If you are a selfish boss, if you are a dishonest boss, a dishonest employee, if you think you are fooling your team and your boss and co-workers and your spouse, think again.
Live honest. Think honest. Be honest. We always talk of self-assessment. Take one now. Where are you? Are you honest? Do you live your life with honesty and integrity? At work? At home? I am not shouting from the mountaintop here, I have my own struggles, but right now we are talking about you. Be the BEST you can be, don’t do what you want and excuse it with positive self talk. Positive self talk has to be honest. Honesty is rooted in truth. And not “your” truth. THE truth. There you have it.
Now get back out there and Make yours a GREAT DAY!!!
