“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.” George S. Patton
We will take this week to consider our Veterans as the 11th is Veteran’s Day known originally as Armistice Day and first observed in 1918 to commemorate the end of World War 1, the war to end all wars.
Officially changed in 1954 to remember all American Veterans of all of our country’s conflicts. It is a day to be respectful however this is not Memorial Day, where we commemorate the fallen, this day is to remember and celebrate those who served so it is more appropriate this day to be happy and celebrate our men and women that have and still do wear the uniform.
This week we will simply quote great military minds and explore the noble spirit of our soldiers, sailors and airmen. The validity or glory or despondence of war will not be debated but rather the courage and strength and dedication of those who serve will be affirmed.
