Are you having a tough day? Are you reading this at work on a Saturday? You don’t want to be there. There is too much to do. Where to start? There doesn’t seem to be a payoff. Ever. You grind, you push forward. You don’t even know why sometimes. Then, you read this, from Babe Ruth,
“Every strike brings me closer to the next home run.”
You might not live for the home run, but they are sure awesome when you do. Have you hit a home run lately? You will. If you are willing to stand in there and take your swings and take your misses…because you will get to the next time you put it out of the park.
The ever present optimism of Babe Ruth and baseball should permeate your business life and how you conduct yourself and how you broadcast that to your team. Make the time count this weekend. Make every strike count because as we have discussed this week, set your goals and don’t stop till you get there. Strike outs happen. Keep swinging. Don’t stop. When you don’t stop you will hit that next home run.
Now let’s go make today a GREAT DAY!!!
