The wisdom of baseball week continues…

If you have followed baseball over the years, you have heard of Tommy Lasorda, Manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers for decades, bleeds Dodger Blue, speaker of one of the funniest, bluest rants of all time, a great baseball mind and maybe a better observer of Life. He said,

“There are three kinds of baseball players, those that make it happen, those who watch it happen and those who wonder what happens.”

Translate that into a metaphor for life and business. My take is that you need to choose which of the three you’ll be. Certainly you have observed the second and third and wonder how these people get by in life. You know that you have to choose to be the one that will, Make It Happen. Whatever “It” is, you are the one. Whether at work or home, you want to choose what it is , when to do it and how to do it. You don’t want to be the one watching, wondering or be the one It happens to.

So prepare yourself, mentally and physically. Educate yourself, work harder than the next person and keep yourself physically strong and morally safe.
