This has been said a million different ways from the Greeks to Disney. McMurtry is somewhere in the middle here and it is true in any age. Whether business or home or friends, relationships or aspirations, yesterday is gone and you cannot get it back. However, you can build on it. You can learn from your triumphs and mistakes. You can be kinder than you were, clearer than you were, nicer, more decisive, less strident…the point is to learn from yesterday, to be better than yesterday, be a better person than you were yesterday and not to regret yesterday.

Hopefully, you have a lot of yesterdays ahead of you so the trick is to make today the yesterday you don’t regret. So start today, right now, not to regret yesterday. Start your project, thank your team, tell that one person what they should hear from you. Today goes by quick and becomes yesterday before you know it. I know this as well as anyone else. Don’t waste today and regret yesterday. Live, learn, love today.
