“If you do something for someone else, never remember. If someone does something for you, never forget.”
Do we all know Dale Carnegie? Writer, speaker, self improvement guru before they thought of the word, guru. He was an original in the field of self-improvement and inter-personal skills. As always, the more you read of these featured thinkers at 240, the better for you.
How correct is he here? Do you know someone who reminds you of the good thing they did for you or the favor you owe them? Annoying. You wish that you hadn’t accepted their help and assistance in the first place.
So keep in mind, to be gracious and generous in doing “something” for someone is a privilege. Do it from the goodness in your heart. Do it as a testimony. Do it to pay it forward. Then forget it. You did a good thing. You should do good things. Good for you.
However, the self-improvement guy says to never forget when someone does something for you. He doesn’t mean when someone follows your directions because you’re the boss, he means a good turn or a timely courtesy. Never forget kindness that comes your way. A grateful heart eases the wrinkles in your countenance.
Go do something for someone as you go about making your day a Great Day!
