Another football season begins and whether you like it or not, it is ubiquitous. Pro football is on Sunday, Monday and Thursday nights and all day Sunday. Throw in College ball all day Saturday and High School football is all day Saturday and Friday night. The only break is Tuesday and Wednesday and if your spouse is not a fan you better make up for it on those nights. However, this is not my point.
There is a whole lot of wisdom about hard work and teamwork and striving for excellence and success and failure that come from the minds of the toughest football coaches. So let’s begin with one of the most revered coaches of all time, Vince Lombardi who has said some great truths and we could write a college course about him, he said,
“The only place success comes before work, is in the dictionary.”
These guys are renown for there direct simplicity. It is the same for you on the job. It is more important for your people to know this truth. This has to be your mantra. You must preach and model this truth so your team knows that success follows hard work. There is no substitute. And remember most of all, that if your people are successful, you will be too. And they will believe and they will pass it on and success becomes contagious and believable.
I already know you work hard and you want your team to work hard. So model this truth as you go out there to Make it a GREAT DAY!!!
