This guy became a motivational speaker after being a salesman. Imagine that for a moment. He wrote the book on this stuff. As a matter of fact, many books. Look him up and read everything you can.

This not only applies to sales, but hotels, your business and Life itself. I knew a sad young woman years ago who believed that success could be achieved in one facet of your life, like business promotions, and she considered that she was a success. How sad. Try as we might to change her mind and to look at balance, she would not budge. She did not apply the same lessons to her personal life as she did to work and went on to be a driven, sad case. She was never happy and never optimistic. Can’t remember her name now and perhaps that’s why.

Zig Ziglar is speaking of a “Balanced success.” Does that not sound preferable. We have to compartmentalize our efforts and often we succeed in one area over another at various times of our lives but that does not mean we should ever cease our consistent efforts to live these traits in all facets of our lives. Each of these must enter into everything we do, on the job and at home.

Take a Post-It note for each one and put them on your computer, your desk, your fridge, your office door, your daily calendar (if you still carry one like I do.) anywhere you will see them often and then, LIVE IT.

Hey we all need help, we all fall short. I do daily. But I try daily. This business of life ain’t easy but there it is. These traits will improve your performance and perspective. DO your best. Then do it again tomorrow.
