“What we call results, are beginnings.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

In business, and in hotels in particular, you can think of your efforts and actions as being in a river. It never stops. Another proverb is that you cannot stick your foot in the same river twice. The river keeps moving and it is in a constant state of change. The river moves as does business and training and the goalposts and the bar gets higher.

When you accomplish one result it opens more possibilities. When you learn a skill or train another in a skill, there is another to learn and another skill to teach. And when you have taught that person everything they need, there is another person to teach. The river moves.

When we achieve results, it is the beginning of new accomplishments with newly learned/taught skills at the ready.

So see accomplishments as the beginning of new challenges. Do not rest on your “laurels,” psych up for what is most certainly ahead. A new beginning. This is Management 101.

Use what you have learned, be grateful for the challenge and accomplishment and be prepared because beginnings are right around the corner.

What did you accomplish today? What lies ahead? Perspective always. Celebrate accomplishment and prepare for the future. OK, let’s get out there and Make it a GREAT DAY!!!
