The entire quote from famed scientist, Louis Pasteur is,

“Let me tell you the secret that has led me to my goal. My strength lies solely in my tenacity.”

We have spoken of Churchill’s famous quote to never give up, look it up, it’s even more eloquent. And Edison’s quote about finding 10,000 ways not to make a light bulb. The point? Even the smartest guys stick with it until they succeed. Can you imagine how hard guys like me have to try and try and try again in order to succeed?

Let’s remember, complete and total and forever success is rare if not impossible. We have our successes and then must try and try for the next one. It never stops at work. One project leads to another. If you succeed, great because another project is right around the corner. If you fail, you’ll stay at it until you prevail. And then guess what? Here comes another.

Or perhaps your project is people. Training people. Training the next manager or supervisor or just the next skill. Truly, training people never ends. Mentoring?, that is whole nother thing.

So today is hump day and a break can seem far away and you may just need to re-focus and remember that it takes tenacity to succeed. It takes tenacity to be the best you can be. It takes tenacity to Make it a Great Day. Be tenacious.
