Aristotle said, “Hope is a waking dream.”
There are a million memes and quotes on “Hope.” But let me throw another quote from a more recent philosopher, Donald Gardner, “Do you know what what happens when you give a procrastinator a good idea? Nothing.”
Let’s try to tie these two together. Hope can heal, hope can give strength, hope can mend relationships. Hope can be positive. Hope is the hope that things will work out, that they will get better. But hope takes no action. Hope can stymie, hope can be unrealistic. A procrastinator takes no action or slow action or delayed action, hoping things will work out or go away.
Dreamers and procrastinators can cripple your operation. Can alter the efficiency of your team. If you are reading 240 today, you are not a procrastinator, you are a doer. You don’t hope for things to improve, you make them improve. You take action to correct or enhance your team.
If you have a dreamer, get them focused. Give them an immediate task with a deadline. If that dreamer is a procrastinator, minimize them until you move them out. Not to be too harsh but they will bring you down. I put big talkers in the same category. They can talk a good game when you take away the promises and braggadocio, they will ruin you too.
So recognize the difference. Dreamers can get better. Procrastinators will drag you down slowly but surely.
God bless you today, while you Make it a GREAT DAY!!!
