One of the movers and shakers of the modern world was a guy named Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple. Totally successful. Right? So why did he say,

“Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith.”

Perhaps he suffered setbacks just as we do. Perhaps inventing a world changing technology had some challenges. Perhaps creating and handling a team of employees. Perhaps his personal coomportment with them. Perhaps he made mistakes with them or one of them. Perhaps family. Perhaps he also experienced what you’re going through.

Sometimes the brick comes out of nowhere. Sometimes we ask for it. Yes, we do. We make a poor decision and try to pretend it wasn’t a poor decision and therefore, make it worse. Yes we do. Whether a business decision that didn’t or isn’t going as planned so we double down insisting the first decision was right. Or we enter into a relationship that we shouldn’t have and don’t admit that we shouldn’t and we are going to make sure that we and everyone else thinks it’s right and it gets worse and worse. Both will blow up in very predictable results. I’ve seen these and I’ve lived these.

Take an assessment of your actions, personal and professional. Then take action to correct it. No matter what are the immediate consequences, if you don’t, they will only get worse. Use that brick as a wake-up call. Don’t lose faith. Come back and read this in a month and six months and keep yourself on the right track.

This is today’s exhortation. Now what. As you assess, it is time to get back to it and Make today the Best Day yet!!!
