If you think think that you are so busy you have no time to read, then are you telling me, are you telling yourself that you know it all? Are you telling me that you are done learning. Being too busy is no excuse for not carving out a few minutes everyday to read what is good. Read to ease your cares, calm your soul, enrich your mind, love your kids, improve your performance, grow closer to God.
“The man who does not read, has no advantage over the man who cannot.” Mark Twain A simple truth.
Are you smarter than Mark Twain? You don’t have to read a novel everyday. You couldn’t there are so many classics let alone good books of history and travel and faith and yes, even business and people management. My Dad used to say that if you read a great book every single day, you would never have the time to read all the great books.
Please understand, I am not referring to technical reading for work, and I’m not talking about trash novels at the beach, the former you have to do, the latter can be fun. But I am talking about what is good for your soul or your general knowledge whether about family, business, other cultures, scripture, love.
Don’t be stubborn. Close your office door for ten minutes and read, you can also meditate or pray but take ten to read. Train your team not to bother you, it is your time, you’re the boss, DO it!
This is why I pull quotes from greatest thinkers of history. I hope you will join me everyday as I share the minds of greatness. May I remind you that these are not my quotes. I learn like you, everyday. This blog today will take you one minute and 15 seconds to read if you are as slow as I am. Is that too much time for you? Now, I really do hope you got something out of this 75 seconds so it’s time to go out there and Make it a Great Day!!!
