As I was planning to launch this week’s theme I came across this from Mark Twain and totally changed my plans, he said;

“Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.”

If you use kindness as you communicate instructions, you are communicating on two levels. One, the Objective, the cold reality of instructions and Two, the Subjective feeling conveyed in the kindness of your presentation and style. It’s not practical to think we can always project kindness in everything we do at work, but I’ll bet we could more often. Sometime, try to talk to someone like you would like a stranger to give your grandmother directions to the hospital. Kindly.

The deaf can hear it, the blind can see it and everyone can feel it. Be kind today and this week, even to those who may not necessarily deserve it.

Now go out there and Make today a Great Day!
