Confucius on business. That is a phrase you won’t read often and honestly, I haven’t given it much thought. But truth is truth. And truth in your career and on the job is important. Confucius says,

“I hear & I forget, I see & I remember, I DO & I understand.”

Have you held a department meeting and watched eyes glaze over? When I think I am firing on all cylinders and every golden word that proceeds from my mouth is inspiring my team to new heights. I find out that they are thinking about some text or tweet they just received. That’s another topic altogether.

The point is that when you are training your team, from managers that report to you to your newest employee, teach them to Do! When your team understands, they have no boundary. No encumbrance. Your job gets easier at this point as well.
