To continue on David Bornstein’s excellent article titled, The Power of Positive Coaching, we discussed yesterday his assertion that employees respond better to a positive coach. He continues,
“Know your thoughts, know your purpose, know your values and know your emotions.”
So before you can claim to be a positive coach, your must know yourself. You must have firm goals and know how will you go after them. You must be grounded in your purpose and values. You must govern your emotions and thoughts. When you are convinced and convicted of your own style, only then can you be sure in your approach to be a positive coach.
Do you believe in your team, their knowledge and their work ethic? How else can you prepare them? Bornstein is saying that when You know You, only then can you be a positive coach. But again, that brings us back to your choice. Will you be a manager or a positive coach? I choose being a positive coach.
Now consider this and get back to it and Make it a GREAT DAY!!!
