An excellent article from David Bornstein, The Power of Positive Coaching, makes the opening statement,

“Watch employees flourish who have a positive coach and not a manager.”

What do you think of that? We work hard to become a manager and then find out it can be more effective to be a coach. Can the two be synonymous? Can you manage business while you coach employees? Is one a title and the other a description? Perhaps they work in tandem. Perhaps you manage groups and coach individuals. Certainly you can coach groups as well, sports teams for example. Coach for the win. Coach for common goals.

Why not coach people and manage money, accounts and finances? Again, this is not the only answer in managing/coaching teams and individuals but it is a facet to consider.

Where do you want to be? A positive coach or a dispassionate manager? Your call. Good luck. I choose positive!

Time to get back to it Coach, and Make it a GREAT DAY!!!
