Today’s 240, that short bit of wisdom , that shot in the arm, that perspective from people smarter than I; comes from Peter Drucker, an American businessman, educator and author who said,

“Management is doing things right. Leadership is doing the right thing.”

My take is that you can be a leader without being the boss. We are speaking today specifically of your place at work. We all have bosses. Some have more than others. No matter how many are in your line of supervision, you can be the leader of your peers and your team.

We spoke yesterday of being the conductor of your orchestra. Any orchestra would devolve rather quickly without a competent conductor. So will your team. So as a leader, be a leader. Do things right as a Manager and do the right things as a Leader.

Enough talk, time to get back to work. Lead, sprinkle your pixie dust, be the best boss, employee and leader that you can be.
