Today’s 240 Pop is from John Wooden, known as The Coach. His UCLA basketball teams won 88 games in a row and 7 straight NCAA Championships and 10 out of 12. This man knows about success, he said;
“Success is never final, failure is never fatal.”
Your Bonus Thursday 240 Pop is from Roger Babson, noted economist and founder of two colleges. He said;
“Keep in mind that neither success nor failure is ever final.“
Another example of accomplished men saying virtually the same thing. SO how does this apply to you as a leader? My thoughts are that you spread the credit around for success to your team. Bring them with you. Celebrate together. You will actually receive more credit the more you spread it around. So that works.
As far as failure goes, don’t people say you learn more from failure? Yeah there is no doubt about that but I still don’t like it. But it happens to all of us so the first thing to do is to hear these men, it’s not fatal and it’s not final. Accept the responsibility as a leader and keep moving. Plan your tomorrow, explain to your team what happened and how you will avoid it going forward. They will follow and guaranteed they will do better as well.
Now it is up to you to get back out there and
Make the rest of today a GREAT DAY!
