Now for today…let’s speak of your personal value, that is, what do you bring to your job, your business, your class, your co-workers, your team, your family? I am not talking about your values but I am asking you, what value do you bring that is needed for your group.

Today’s 240 is: “People buy into the leader, before they buy into the vision.” This was said by John C. Maxwell, a current American author, pastor & businessman.

I have found in hotels that people want to find that leader they can believe in and get behind that person. They are looking for someone who they can trust. Someone who is honest, will tell them the truth, inform them of a difficult day ahead or difficult project or task or whatever, but they want to believe in that person and then they will see what you see. The vision. It is easier to achieve and accomplish when your vision is shared by many.

Do people buy into you? Leadership is not supposed to be ephemeral, short lived. It is necessary that people buy into what you are doing and the why and how but it is so much more important that they buy into you.
