It is a grey and rainy Spring day in Chicago this morning but I hear the music,
“Every day that is born into the world comes like a burst of music and rings the whole day through, and YOU make it a dance, a dirge or a life march, as you will.” Anonymous
What music do you hear this morning? You choose. Will it be a joyful dance or, to paraphrase Don McLean, will you sing dirges in the dark? Again, you choose. Will you conduct yourself with chosen joy and happiness and take others with you? This is the daily choice.
Those you work with, those you live with and those you may not see today will know if you have chosen the dance.
I choose the dance. There are not enough days and too many dirges. Go forth and dance! You are the conductor of the music today. Many will look to you to see which you choose. They will follow you. So make your choice wisely. Bring them to your dance. Be generous with your music. Remember to sprinkle your “fairy dust.” (See the blog post of 4.24) There will be days for dirges and many more life marches. Today, choose to dance!
